Enfield Council consults on new park strategy

Enfield council are currently consulting on their strategy for green spaces for the next 10 years. The strategy aims to make Enfield London’s greenest borough by 2031. However, at present, none of the plans consider any improvements to Tottenhall Recreation Ground and Boundary Fields (also known as NorfolkPark) or any other green space south of the A406.

Tottenhall Rec is situated on the border of Enfield and Haringeyand serves a large number of households but hasvery little recent investment. Usage of the park has increased massively recently but some residents are still put off by the poor facilities. An upgrade is desperately needed. Improvements that we would like to see include:

  • Improving access for residents for with mobility issues and pushchairs

  • Upgrading the play area

  • Reopening the toilet facilities

  • Planting trees andwildflowers

  • Opening a café

We don’t want to let our area be neglected during this period of planning and we need as many residents as possible to get behind our outreach to maximise our chances of success.

If you would be happy to help us to respond to Enfield’s proposals, we have put together some details and an easy to complete response form that can be emailed back to the council (here).

If you would like to consider becoming a member of the Friends of Tottenhall Rec and Boundary Fields and help us shape the future of our park then we would be delighted for you to join us. Just email tottenhallrec@gmail.com
